We look forward to this year’s Spring Renewal Week and the presentation of God’s word by our own John Oswalt.  John is a world-class scholar / preacher with a passionate heart for God and His Word. We set all other activities of the church aside for these four days to give God special space in our lives to speak a new word to us.

Our friend and brother, Dr. John Oswalt, and his wife, Karen, have been a part of Wilmore FMC for 15 years. They are the parents of three children.

John is a graduate of Taylor University, Asbury Seminary and Brandeis University. John has been a theological educator for 60 years, teaching at several seminaries, including Asbury, where he now serves as Visiting Distinguished Professor of Old Testament

An ordained elder in the Global Methodist Church, John has served several churches in Kentucky as pastor, and speaks nearly 100 times per year in churches, camps and conferences.

John is a prolific author, writing dozens of scholarly and popular articles, mostly on Biblical interpretation, contributing to several commentary series and Bible translations, and penning 16 books, the latest, published last year, entitled, When Morning Gilds the Skies: A Collection of Devotional Thoughts.

Let’s pray for John and for ourselves as he brings God’s renewing word to us.
