Acts 16:25-26 “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.”
The dream of the inmates in the Philippi prison was to get out. When the time came after the earthquake, they let their life chance pass as they received a new light. The revival service Paul and Silas led made them consider the deliverance of their souls as far more important than the deliverance of their bodies. When the Spirit is present, the brutal prison changes into a glimpse of Heaven. So let us be in the Spirit in the Lord’s day.
