“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased” (Luke 2:14 NLT).
For me, there is one word that describes Christmas: “Joy.” That word describes everything Christmas means and the way we celebrate that special day. My husband, Bob, and I loved Christmas and enjoyed making it special for our family.
But one Christmas was very special. Our daughter, Linda, was a little girl at the time, and she told me the night before that she was sick. I prayed for her, but she still felt sick the next morning. As we went down the hall to the living room, she said, “Mommy, I still feel sick. I don’t want to be sick on Christmas.”
I replied, “Honey, just ask Jesus to heal you.” She did, and He did. She was so happy she talked about it all day. Bob and I found a special joy on that day. Our precious little girl had found a new depth of faith in our Jesus on His birthday.
It was truly a day of special joy!
